What makes me excel in delivering operational performance is that I know where my strengths and weaknesses are, and I play to my strengths. Give me a job to do which involves the construction or refinement of systems & processes; or demands financial, legal or analytical skills, and I’ll execute it with laser focus, meticulous attention to detail, and a zeal for perfection. Give me a job which involves people skills, emotional intelligence, or empathetic engagement, and I’ll hire someone else to do it, as I know I’d do it badly. Being honest enough to accept your own limitations sets apart successful people from less successful people. So while my strengths have enabled me to achieve outstanding results in the world of business, my successes would not have been possible without having the guts to admit the bits that could only be successfully accomplished by finding the right people to take care of them. My laser-focused mindset has enabled me to see any task in hand through to completion with military precision, including my most satisfying achievement to date in having authored four business books from blank canvas to finished product in less than two years. Mastering the art of proper and effective delegation has transformed my business operations to the point where my involvement is restricted to merely highest-level oversight; and my message to all business owners out there is to embrace this mindset now, and I guarantee you’ll wish you’d embraced it years sooner.
